On Saturday, 30 March 2019, Georgia’s Marty Kemp (First Lady) conducted the first adoption event at their official residence.

She said, “Animals have always been huge in our family and a big part of our lives.”

“Let people throng this place and adopt the pet of their choice, and that would be cool,” Kemp said.

She added that the event had become a big success so far.

The event showcased rescue groups and pet shelters across Georgia. Some of them came from puppy mills like those rescued in a Georgia bust.

The First Lady will conduct this event at least twice every year. Any pets that were still not adopted in the event will be posted on social media sites.
