Pitbull Puppies
Rating: 4.85/5 (7 votes)

The most misunderstood and scorned dog breeds in the entire world, Pitbull is one of the most famous names for a dog type. Initially, pitbull puppies were developed from terriers and bulldogs as hunting and fighting dogs. In England, they were part of blood sports such as bear-baiting and bull-baiting.

Britain officially banned Pitbulls in 1835, blood sports lovers turned their attention to dogfighting. However, at the beginning of 20th century, Pitbulls were predominantly used as friendly companions, for catching hogs and semi-wild animals, manage livestock, and to hunt.

In essence, dog breeders were keen to mix terrier’s “insane” bravery with bulldog’s abnormal strength. There is also a misconception among the general public that Pitbull puppies are easy to handle when compared to an adult Pitbull, but it is not possible to guess the behavior of a Pitbull dog until they mature.

Overall, Pitbulls are just like normal dogs but with a little bit more aggression in their genes due to cross breeding.

Pitbull Temperament

◊ Determination

One of the most feared traits of a Pitbull is its determination. Mix that determination trait with Pitbulls enormous power and strength, the result is an absolute terror. And for this reason, many believe Pitbulls are nothing but harm.

There are reports to prove that the jaws of a Pitbull are not locking type, and since they were initially bred as ferocious hunting dogs, that trait is thoroughly ingrained in their genes.

◊ A powerful “Alpha Dog”

The real personalities of these dogs are not clear till they reach the age of three or more. The minute they cross one, Pitbulls are eager to test their control. Bear in mind, they are bred to behave like an alpha dog and nothing else.

So, keeping this mind, it is very important to handle the dog in the most appropriate manner.

◊ Aggression

Pitbulls were used as hunting and catching dogs, to grab wild animals by holding on to its heads and faces; aggression is an inborn trait of any Pitbull dog breed.

There are certain Pitbull dogs that do not allow any another pet in their vicinity, but experts argue that socialization holds the key.

◊ Loyal, adorable, and kind

Not many believe that Pitbulls are caring, loving dogs who can perform heroic activities just to save their owners and their family members at times of unforeseen difficulties.

They are adorable pets if taken care properly with adequate attention.

◊ Robust and Active

An athletic dog to the core, Pitbulls need a lot of activities and exercises to keep them out of boredom and also in shape. Avoid owning a Pitbull if you live in an apartment complex since big places like farms are ideal for a Pitbull to unleash their notoriety.
